Looking for forever home (Southern CT)

Hello.
My family and I are looking for a new home! Our landlord passed away and we are being moved out! I am disabled but my husband is gainfully employed, along with a VA pension.
I also have a monthly stipend.
We have been at our current residence for almost 5 years.
We are able to pay between $1500 to $2000 per month.
We need something preferably on the first floor with minimal stairs.
Other than that, we’re open to any suggestions.
