Job Description
PURPOSE:
Under supervision, performs coating operations in the manufacture of refractory ceramic molds and slurries for a series of coatings over wax pattern assemblies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Under supervision Reads shell process sheet instructions pertaining to each production part number.
Under limited supervision Prepares basic molds for further processing according to instructions.
Lifts assemblies from racks and inserts handles to facilitate clipping/washing.
Manually/automatic immerses the wax set-up in the appropriate washing solution according to process sheet instructions.
Under supervision manually immerses mold in the proper slurry, applying the first coat to the mold per instructions.
Replenish depleted slurry mixture by following specific procedures mixing solids and liquids into tanks.
Maintains work area in clean and orderly manner by sweeping, wiping, washing, scraping and removing waste generated by the process.
Periodically perform turnaround functions cleaning and restoring all tanks and equipment.
Follows all prescribed safety rules and regulations.
Wears safety glasses with side shields and steel toed shoes at all times.
Wear plastic coveralls to protect street garments from particulate.
Performs other duties of greater, lesser or of equal complexity as assigned by supervision or as required by the position.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Considerable physical exertion consisting of frequently lifting and moving heavy weight material.
Continuous mental and visual attention in mixing and checking slurries, dipping checking, drying and performing other duties involving constant activity.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to Shell lead person and Shell supervisor.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Uses ordinary arithmetic.
Works from schedules and forms requiring the ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
12 months experience.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.
S.
export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful applicant must be a U.
S.
Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work or be authorized to receive controlled information under a specific license or permission from the relevant government agency.
