The position of Material Handler supports production by receiving and moving materials, as well as processing required paperwork attached to all jobs that move through the shop floor.
This role is responsible for properly identifying materials and managing their locations to subsequently stage materials for active jobs.
Responsible for the inventory of raw material and assigning materials to active jobs.
Moves materials throughout the facilities as needed to facilitate the flow of production.
Key Responsibilities:
Handles all operation of forklift in a safe manner
Manages inventory by handling receiving of materials, identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock and recording inventory
Runs through schedule and organizes work per work center and by like materials, delivers accurate type and count of materials to proper job location on production floor
Loads material onto machine
Handles Sheet and Drop material inventory
Builds lights out skids
Ordering material
Maintenance of scrap dumpsters
Assist with breakout of parts as needed
General housekeeping of work areas (keeping shear area and dock clean)
Other related duties as required
Requirements:
Organization, analyzing, scheduling, dealing with complexity, process improvement
Ability to strictly follow safety policy and protocol
Comprehension of basic inventory and material location principles
Proficient in forklift operation
Basic computer skills and basic math skills
Ability to distinguish different types of materials: aluminum, steel, stainless steel, copper, and brass
High school diploma or GED
Ability to work independently or with a team
