COLANAR, a leader in the pharmaceutical filling machinery industry, is currently seeking a talented individual to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge machinery vital to pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
*Position:* Mechanical Design Engineer – Pharmaceutical Machine Design
*Location*: Deep River, CT (Onsite)

*Key responsibilities:*
· Design and develop pharmaceutical machinery and equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, researchers, and manufacturing specialists to optimize machine performance and functionality.
· Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost analysis for proposed designs.
· Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
· Perform testing, troubleshooting, and validation of prototypes and final products.
· Provide technical support and assistance during the installation, commissioning, and maintenance phases.
· Traveling up to 25%
*Qualifications:*
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
· Proven experience (3-5 years) in mechanical design, particularly within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
· Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks) for 3D modeling.
· Strong understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical equipment design.
· Familiarity with machining processes, materials selection, and manufacturing techniques.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
· Proficient in Windows office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
)
