Position Summary
The Office of Alumni Relations at the UConn Foundation strives to connect alumni, support students, and strengthen UConn through a variety of programs and services.
The Senior Events Student Worker’s primary role includes marketing and communications for the UConn Senior program, as well as additional event planning and execution.
The Senior Events Student Worker will report to the Senior Director of Alumni Relations but will work with multiple staff members as needed.
This position is based out of the Storrs campus, but some remote work may be possible.
Role Responsibilities
Primary Role: UConn Senior Program management
Assist with planning and execution of Senior Kick-Off, Senior Send-Off, Senior Scoop, Grad Fair, pop-up senior events, social media giveaways, and other events as necessary.
Develop and implement an integrated marketing strategy.
Create print and digital marketing materials.
Create regular website and social media content for seniors.

Communicate with campus partners about upcoming senior-focused campus events and opportunities.
Create, maintain, and promote a calendar of senior-focused campus events and opportunities via social media and website.
Secondary Role: General support for various alumni and student events
Assist with executing event needs including nametags, supplies, promotion, registration, etc.
Assist with online event registration development via the Stova online system.
Monitor event registration on an ongoing basis.
Assist with other events and programs as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Learning Opportunities:
The Student Worker will gain valuable professional experience in event planning, marketing, alumni networking, logistics, partnership management, constituent engagement, and student and alumni outreach.
They will be invited to participate in planning meetings with staff as schedules allow.
There is a possibility that employment may be extended.

Key Competencies
Must be available for at least two semesters starting Fall 2024
Some early morning/evening/weekend work may be required.
Ability to work at least 10 hours per week.
Must have demonstrated interest or experience in marketing and/or communications.
Must have demonstrated interest and experience in event planning and/or execution.
Must have knowledge of and experience with social media management: Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and TikTok
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

Education and Experience
Must be enrolled at the University of Connecticut
Must be a student in good standing related to grade point average and student code of conduct.
Experience using Canva or another graphic design program preferred but not required.
Experience using Wordpress or another web design platform preferred but not required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Teams preferred but not required.
