*The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticu*t, a non-profit membership association, *seeks an enthusiastic, community-oriented individual* to join our team as a *Community Manager* for our Regional Innovation and Co-Working Center.
The ideal candidate will possess a passion for fostering community, supporting small and growth-stage businesses, and driving economic development initiatives.
The Community Manager will play a crucial role in providing administrative support, coordinating programs, and spearheading initiatives to empower our members and local businesses.
This role also collaborates closely with the City of New London’s Office of Economic Development to provide support for new and existing local businesses.
*Primary Responsibilities*: *Administrative & Operational Support:* * Manage day-to-day operations of the co-working center, including overseeing facilities, equipment, and tenant/co-worker services and amenities; deliver services in accordance with, and ensure tenant adherence to, organizational guidelines and policies.
* Handle inquiries, requests, and concerns from tenant/co-workers, ensuring a high level of customer service and satisfaction; greet and guide visitors, stakeholders and potential tenants to showcase the assets of the Regional Innovation Center * Maintain accurate records, databases, and documentation related to participants, events, and facility usage; monitor contracts with vendors and other service providers for the facility * Other duties as assigned *Program Planning & Community Building:* * Develop and implement engaging programs, workshops, and related events to support the professional and personal growth of entrepreneurs, innovators, and community members; identify relevant topics and speakers for programs * Organize networking opportunities, social gatherings, and community-building activities to enhance engagement and cohesion for Innovation Center participants and stakeholders.
* Cultivate a vibrant and inclusive community atmosphere within the co-working center, fostering connections, collaboration, and mutual support among tenants/co-workers and Chamber members.
* Economic Development Initiatives: * Identify opportunities to support and attract businesses, entrepreneurs, and startups through strategic partnerships, resources, and initiatives, including those offered by the City of New London/Office of Economic Development.
* Build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders, government agencies, and other economic development organizations to leverage resources and support sustainable growth for Center participants * Upon request, research and present data on economic development trends or other information impacting the eastern Connecticut Region *Outreach and Marketing:* * Collaborating with the Creative Manager and Marketing Coordinator, develop and execute marketing strategies to build awareness for the co-working center and attract new tenants and/or program participants; utilize social media, email campaigns, and other channels to highlight the value proposition of the co-working center.
* Upon request, represent the organization at community events and networking functions to raise awareness and expand our network.
*All Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut employees are expected to:* * perform quality work within communicated deadlines with or without direct supervision * interact professionally with all Chamber staff, members, partners and vendors * work independently while also demonstrating collaborative communication and coordination with colleagues * Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information *Qualifications*: * Proven experience in community management, administrative/organizational support, program coordination, or related roles * Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and manage multiple deadlines * Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships, facilitate group discussions, and resolve conflicts effectively.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and other relevant software tools for administrative tasks and program management.
* Passion for community development, entrepreneurship, and social impact, with a commitment to advancing the mission and values of the organization.
* Bachelor's degree preferred, with concentration in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Urban Planning, Communications/Marketing, or a related field, or Associate’s Degree with equivalent practical knowledge and proficiency in the areas of administrative support, program planning, and economic development Job Type: Full-time Pay: $56,160.
