Description: At Mystic Seaport Museum, our goal is to enable visitors, including our virtual visitors, to find their sea story.
The marketing team at the Museum is a group of storytellers and by sharing the stories of the Museum, we aim to increase engagement, awareness of our brand, and encourage others to explore their own sea story.
The role of the Digital Marketing Specialist will be a critical in achieving this by expanding our digital storytelling capabilities delivered on our website and through email.
A critical component of this role will be to manage the setup and delivery of marketing analytics derived from Google Analytics and other relevant sources.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Website Management Maintenance and updating of the existing site, ranging from basic content updates to landing page development, SEO, and ADA compliance.
Monitor website performance, identify issues, and proactively resolve any technical or content-related problems in partnership with the web agency.
Project management for the development of a new website to begin in 2024.
This ranges from RFP to final implementation.
Email & Marketing Automation Beginning in January of 2024, we will be implementing Prospect2 an email and marketing automation platform that will allow us to develop a digital journey based on interests, likes, membership level, etc.
This individual will own the implementation and management of this process, so a working knowledge of this process is desired.
Marketing Analytics This individual will have a thorough understanding of Google Analytics (certified individuals preferred) to conduct a comprehensive review and audit of the Museum’s GA account.
Enable tracking for all digital campaigns, work with the Marketing team to identify KPIs and develop dashboards to easily report results.
Identify methods for streamlining analytics across multiple sources, including GA, Social, Email, etc.
Other Responsibilities: Assist in coordinating paid media campaigns with our partner agency.
We are a small team and often work cross functionally to support each other.
As such this individual will also provide guidance and assistance across all marketing functions including digital asset management, software recommendations, and general marketing support.
Requirements: Google Analytics Certification or comparable experience Experience with Prospect2 (Email & Marketing Automation through Active Campaign) and Tessitura, a plus.
WordPress Individual must be highly organized and able to communicate and present data effectively.
Minimum of 5 years experience.
