38 City Uncasville State CT Job Level Experienced Education Department Food and Beverage Category Food & Beverage - FOH RESTAURANT HOST - TUSCANY HST01 Position Summary: This position is responsible for welcoming, seating and presenting menus to guests according to department policies and procedures.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to: • Coordinates all guest seating in accordance with proper station rotation • Observes tables and keeps track of clean, dirty and occupied tables • Takes guest information and quotes accurate wait time or maintains an orderly line, depending upon specific restaurant procedures, when tables are not immediately available • Answers phones, assists guests and takes messages as needed • Answers guest questions concerning restaurant concepts, menus and directions to and from various points • Interacts with all exiting outlet guests to thank them and solicit comments Secondary Duties and Responsibilities: • Cleans and organizes the host area and ensures menus are stocked and are in presentable condition • Maintains all comps, paper comp voids, special request forms, coupon vouchers and tickets as prescribed by the outlet • Assists the department Supervisor and Manager in opening and closing duties including arranging the room, setting tables and preparing for special events • Performs other related duties, as needed Competencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position: • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills • Thorough knowledge of operational policies with regard to hours of operation, types of menus offered, restaurant concepts and marketing programs • Good knowledge of all legal beverage service guidelines and state liquor laws including proper identification, refusal of service and shutoff procedures • Property wide knowledge of Mohegan Sun for the purposes of assisting guests • Thorough understanding of ProHost seating system Training Requirements: • Outlet-specific standard operating procedures • SMART alcohol awareness Physical Demands and Work Environment: • Must be able to stand during an entire shift • Must be able to reach, bend and stoop for extended periods of time • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions • Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours This is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, requirements or working conditions associated with this job.
