The Town of Waterford Public Works Department is looking for a Maintainer II.
*PURPOSE OF POSITION:*
Operate a variety of power tools; operate Medium Duty Truck.
*EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:*
* Drive Medium Duty Truck – Highway Maintenance.
* Brush cutting, Patching, Drainage.
* Snow Plow Route with Medium Duty Truck.
* Operate Power Tools & Equipment including but not limited to: Chain Saw, Chipper, Pneumatic Equipment, Sidewalk Snow Plow.
* First Echelon Maintenance.
* Duties of Maintainer I.
* Refuse Collection/Disposal Substitute.
* Assist Maintainer III with duties.
* Drive Heavy Duty Truck as substitute (if qualified).
*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:* (Knowledge, Skill & Ability).
Some knowledge of the methods of road construction and maintenance; ability to operate and use a variety of tools and motor or mechanized equipment usual to road maintenance projects; ability to follow oral instructions.
*PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:*
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
The employee is required to stand, walk and sit.
The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, bend or crawl, sometimes in awkward positions.
The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs; and be able to stand on concrete floors for the work period.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
*EDUCATION & TRAINING:*
Not less than two (2) years experience in work equivalent to that described for Highway Maintainer I or, on recommendation of the General Foreman.
Have and maintain Commercial Drivers’ License B (CDL).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.
30 per hour
