00 per hour *Reports To:* Recreation Program Coordinator *Supervision exercised: *None *Position Summary: *Plainfield Recreation is hiring a part-time Recreation Assistant for the Bright Futures Ahead afterschool program.
The Bright Futures Ahead program is an after-school program for grades 6-8th at Plainfield Central School.
The applicant is expected to work the regular hours of 2:30pm-6:15pm Monday through Friday.
The Program Assistant will lead the day-to-day activities and will engage with each Bright Futures Ahead student.
*Essential Functions: * * Plan and execute daily activities with students * Take and report daily attendance * Assist and engage with students during homework time, snack time, and activity time * Has daily contact with parents and participants; resolves conflicts * Frequently communicates with Recreation Program Coordinator * Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the students * Regularly setup for daily activities and cleanup at the conclusion of each day * Prepares reports forms, policies, and procedures * Ensure that all children follow rules and policies on site * Performs proper emergency procedures when necessary * Performs other duties as assigned *Requirements: * * Must be available 2:30pm - 6:15pm Monday - Friday February 20 through approximately June 11 *Qualifications * * Must be able to work with people of various ages, gender, race, ethnicity, and socio-economic backgrounds * Must be 18 years or older.
* Must have experience working with children * Must have demonstrated experience and knowledge in a school setting * Must be able to follow directions, schedules, be organized and interact well with other staff *Working conditions: * * Work may be performed in indoor and outdoor settings * May be subjected to varying weather conditions such as hot and humid or cold and rainy.
All offers of employment are contingent upon a satisfactory drug test and background check.
