Job Summary: We are looking for the next Lead ATV (all-terrain vehicle) Instructor for the 2024 Summer Camp Season at the *June Norcross Webster Scout Reservation,* one of the largest Summer Camps in Connecticut.
The role is to Introduce young people (Ages 14-18) to the chills and thrills of riding ATVs *safely* and *responsibly *following the ASI Rider course curriculum.
The ATV Experience is one of the most popular programs offered at J.
N.
Webster, and we are hiring amazing individuals to facilitate a life-changing visit for the hundreds of Scouts and adults who will visit the camp in the summer of 2024! * June 14-August 13, 2024 * Roofed Housing is available; commuters welcome.
* Room & Board included.
* Must be willing to take ASI Instructor Training prior to camp, which is a paid opportunity.
* 1,200 acres Scout Camp with a private lake, trails, and facilities available during off-time.
*Qualifications*: * At least 21 years of age * Must be currently or willing to become certified as an ASI Instructor * Must be currently or willing to become a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America * Strong leadership abilities * Must have a valid driver's license and experience with ATVs.
* Strong public speaking and communication skills * Experience in ATV riding is preferred * Successful candidates will be required to lift 50 lbs and be able to stand for 2 hours at a time * Computer Skills *Responsibilities:* * Follow and enforce the rules and guidelines of the BSA and ASI * Complete proper daily opening and closing procedures * Complete daily inspection of equipment and facilities * Ensure program schedule and goals are being met * Keep area inventory * Promote the ATV program at camp * Collect ATV Waivers and surveys * Participate in Camp-Wide activities * Perform all other duties assigned by the Ranger & Director This is a Seasonal position.
