This position provides financial support services to the TVCCA Housing Programs.
This position will work with people in a housing crisis, and people who are experiencing homelessness.
The Financial Assistance Coordinator will be working with the head of household and case management staff to determine the appropriate financial intervention to return the customer to housing in the community.
Responsibilities include processing all funding assistance applications for rapid rehousing, prevention and diversion clients.
Must keep up to date information regarding funds available and the eligibility requirements of each fund.
Must meet with case managers and financial assistance applicants.
Must be able to interact with those in a current housing crisis.
Must be willing and able to approach housing clients in a calm, empathetic and analytical manner.
Responsible for tracking housing assistance expenditures across multiple grants as well as relevant balances and reporting requirements.
Must learn the criteria for awarding funds from each source and be able to apply the rules of eligibility to multiple applicants.
Required Skills Bachelor’s Degree plus one year of related experience, Associates Degree plus three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in banking and/or finance preferred.
Must be efficient and well organized.
Proficiency with numbers is essential to be able to track spending and fund balances and prepare reports for funding sources.
Must have strong computer skills.
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Have a driver’s license, god driving record and access to daily, reliable, insured transportation.
